We are all born with lower senses and higher senses. The lower senses help us in our interactions with the physical world. The higher senses help us in our interactions with the astral and etheral worlds. When we think of the lower senses, we describe them as the Five Senses – sight, touch, smell, taste, and sound. In other words, seeing, touching, smelling, tasting, and hearing. These senses help us navigate life in this physical world. They are links between our physical world and our inner world. Through the organs we use to hear, smell, taste, see, and feel objects outside of our body, we take that information into ourselves and process it through our mind and throughtout our inner world.
We are all also aware that we have a SIXTH SENSE – a sense that operates in our astral and etheral worlds. Even though we refer to it as one sense, this sixth sense is more than just one sense. It expresses itself in MANY different ways and we experience it in a variety of our Life situations. We see it operate in our dream world, as hunches, insights, perceptions, intuition, déjà vu, The Inner Voice, and in serendipity. We group these expériences into one sense but, in fact, it aspects that are uniquely different, separate and distinctive. Serendipity is different than your Inner Voice. A hunch is different than déjà vu. Even your intuition is slightly different than your insight. These are our Higher Senses… and everyone has them and experiences them.
When we practice techniques that expand our minds spiritually, our sixth sense can not help but expand as well. We become more aware of it as we work with techniques like meditation and prayer. Through daily spiritual practice, our sixth sense becomes a prominent part of our everyday lives. When we see signs that our sixth sense is operating in our lives, we become even more open to its help and guidance.
Part of the beauty of the sixth sense, or super-conscious mind, is that it advises us with information far beyond our own knowledge or conscious mind. It “meets” other thoughts of spiritual beings (humans) in the astral and etheral worlds and helps guide us to encouter people, relationships, and situations. Down here in our physical world, we have the choice to either pump Light into our sixth sense or darkness into it. when we choose to imbibe it with light and purity, it will bring us in contact with people and situations that will improve our well-being.
Scientifically, we take in BILLIONS of bits of information per second through all of our senses, however only a fraction of those comes to the awareness of our conscious minds. Our sixth sense processes much of the information we “percieve” but does not perculate up to our observation or conscious thought.
When we find ourselves in situations where we feel a strong hunch or hear loud an inner voice, the vast amount of information we have been subconsciously processing day by day has perculated up to our conscious mind to guide us in some way. When we feel this advice fills us with Light and changes us in positive ways, we can be sure that God has had a hand in it.
