In many ways, how most of us live our lives can be compared to playing in a sandbox. Most of us simply enjoy playing in this maleable material within and around us. A few of us wonder what is this material is composed of. And fewer still attempt to analyze it to see if we can connect back to what or who created it. Those of us who attempt to dig for answers, may first do so with our hands – only to find more and more sand pouring down over our burrowing.
If we are blessed, we will meet a teacher or guide who will show us the shovels and pails we can use to help us. With practice, what we come to realize is is that our spiritual activities have the ability to not only act as shovels and pails, but also as water and glue. Working with water and glue helps us to organize the sand and see past it onto what is written for us on the floor of the sandbox. The dunes of sand are pushed aside and we can connect back to the creator. After many years of intensive work, we will finally see that the specific message we had always been looking for was within us all along.
