Examine the difference between these two prayers:
First prayer: “Thank you God for this food”.
Second prayer: “Thank you God for this food, Amen”.
At first, we can ask ourselves why the “Amen” is necessary? Both prayers are done before a meal is taken into our body. Both prayers show gratitude to God for his nourishment and abundance. Both prayers ground us and put our thoughts into the present moment. So, what does the “Amen” add to it? This book researches how the five world mantras are “amplifiers”. “Om”, “Allah”, “Tao”, “Amen”, and “Aum” amplify our thoughts and prayers. When we more thoroughly understand their core definitions, our prayers are more empowered.
In the second prayer, The “Amen” amplifies the “Thank you God for this food”. It can connect us to The Divine Intelligence that created the appleseed… that grew the apple tree… which formed the apples… and inspired us to bake the Apple Pie we are about to put into our mouth. And that’s just when we use “Amen”. “Tao”, “Om”, “Allah”, and “Aum” elevate our thoughts in different, yet equally powerful, ways.
